Word Play (45 minutes, ages 4 -5) In this 45 minute class, students leap, prance and spin their way through the world of children’s literature. Using picture books, fairy tales and poetry, children are introduced to the fundamentals of creative movement and narrative dance. Whether they’re twirling down their own Purple Crayon path, pouncing at the Wild Rumpus, or dancing the alphabet, kids will love this interactive class that honors the reader, and storyteller, in all of us.

In short, The Center’s First Annual Halloween Morning Masquerade was a smashing success. Thanks to all our fellow revelers for joining in on the fun – we’re already looking forward to next October! Below, some of the highlights…

The Center cordially invites you to showcase your spookiest moves at our 1st Annual Halloween Morning Masquerade! Creep over to 321 Main Street next Saturday, October 31st at 10 AM for some Halloween fun: stories, games, cookie decorating and LOTS of dancing. Costumes encouraged!

Admission is $3 per child. Caregivers, please plan to attend.

The Center Dance Studio was honored to be featured on the front page of the Daily Hampshire Gazette this past Monday. A big shout out to our fabulous Word Play students from Spring Street Preschool, who provided the Gazette’s photographer with such wonderful action shots.

Fall classes are off to a great start; if you missed September registration however, don’t wait until next session to join! Contact us for information on mid-session enrollment and rates.

A couple dates to put on your calendar:

1. The Center will be hosting a Halloween Morning Masquerade on Saturday, October 31st, from 10AM to 12PM. Come show us your spookiest moves, hear some frighteningly good stories and, of course, decorate a pumpkin cookie. More details are forthcoming!

1. Class observation week will be held October 26th-30th. Family members/friends of students are encouraged to attend!

On Wednesday, September 23rd, PERCH, The Center’s morning playspace/chill space, will open its doors for the first time. This week’s theme is Friendship; our bookshelves and artist’s corner are stocked with material to bond over, and our dance space is ready for moving and mingling.

Doors open at 9AM.
