Story Arc (75 minutes, grades 5-6) offers a creative approach to building dances in this choreography lab that grounds students in composition through technical and improvisational activities. Using literature and their own writing as a creative platform, students will explore a wide variety of movement concepts and choreographic tools. Students will work collaboratively and independently to structure original dances that are rich, meaningful and inspired. Story Arc students will showcase their work at an informal end-of-session sharing, and will be invited to perform in The Center’s spring performance. No prior experience necessary!

Our Winter/Spring ’18 session of Story Arc will have a distinctly modern bent, as contemporary dancer, choreographer and educator Kate Martel brings her expertise to the curriculum.
